I think it's the best and most detailed tour of a fleet boat. I found it some time ago while I was still playing  SH4. By the way the name fleet boats comes from the role that submarines were to play in the pre-war US Navy doctrine. They were to accompany the fleet and scout ahead of them. This is the reason why they had such a great endurance and speed - reaching 20 kts, which made them on the the fasted if not the fastest subs of that time.

Since nearly all US battleships were sunk or damages in Pear Harbour, fleet boats were forced to operate independently, which probably made them far more successful. Especially when they sorted out problems with torpedos in 1943.
