What Tornado Could Have Been Graphics-wise

The only modern combat simulation that features the Tornado, that I have on my hard disk, is Thirdwire's Wings Over Europe running on the Operation Desert Storm mod. The is the setup that Tim Stone, contributor to the Flare Path, did not have time to explore in detail in his article entitled A Tornado Miscellany.

Thirdwire's WOE is a lite sim meaning that you can get into it quite fast without having to read an entire manual to just get off the runway. WOE's mission planner is not as sophisticated as Digital Integration's Tornado. However the graphics, though dated (2006) by today's standards, are more than sufficient to qualify as what DI's Tornado could have been given time and development. However, I don't see any terrain following feature in the game.

Maybe one day I'll explore BMS' Tornado as a better option to fly the Tornado in a PC combat flight simulator. In the meantime, enjoy the following screenshots.

Nice post Frankie

I do my combat at the moment in Prepar3D using:
- CCP
- FSX@WAR
- FSCAI
- Tacpak (paid)
- VACMI (simskunkworks)
- TacView (there is a free version)

All free apart from Tacpack

It is not perfect but works quite well and allows the entire planet to be used  :thumbsup
