Yes, I realize that description sounds insane.

After our Time of Crisis multiplayer game (for which I didn't create a video AAR, but which I'll link to here for the print AAR), two of us who were experienced at FIRE IN THE LAKE tried to convince the other two to take a shot at it.

Since the new guys are still getting a handle on the rules, I went on to start a four-player competitive game against myself, like my CHURCHILL video AAR series except without the funny voices bantering with each other. (....so far??)

That's just Turn One, which accidentally started as a coup turn -- not by a 1 in 7 random draw, but due to my stupidity.

Incidentally, the DC:Blitz game got three turns farther over Labor Day weekend, and I haven't updated its video AAR yet. But that's coming. The game is still down to the wire!

Nice post Jason. I have the Falling Sky COIN game from GMT. The trick is convincing one of my family members to play it with me!

Yeah, I have no one local who would play a game with me either.

TTS and Vassal both have modules for Falling Sky (not for the expansion yet), so if you want to play drop me a line!

Note to Asid or other ad/mods -- I have a dead link in my initial post now, because I deleted that video as irrelevant. All the text in that post after my second video can also be deleted as irrelevant, too.

(I would modify the thread myself, but my time to do so seems to have run out. Understandably, since I last updated here in early Sept.)

The good news, is that we're at least 2/3 of the way through our game, and with my DC1:Blitz mp game having finished I'm not in position to start producing DARs for this game! -- reproducing our moves on TTS for convenience.

Not incidentally, episode 1 is now ready!

Amazingly, the United States crushingly wins by Turn Three, and just like real life it doesn't make a single bit of difference!

The beginning of the game has ended, as we get busy after the first coup has passed.

Specifically I get busy testing out some improved fonting! -- but also I focus on demonstrating one of the short-range movement operations of the game.

Well, Team South (that's US-Rich, and me, ARVN) are doing okay, but Team North isn't really that far behind. Despite NVA-Dave still having the exact same 4 points (out of 19) he started the game with. And still having no new pieces on the board. At the start of Turn 9 already. Yeesh.

I know that sounds bad for Team North, but notice: they aren't far behind without the NVA having even started rolling yet.

This suggests we need to keep him down as long as we can. ...but can we?

NVA-Dave gets tired of watching VC-Larry slowly defeat Team South by himself; and Team South gets tired of the NVA having any points at all.

This creates a certain amount of tension.
