OUR AIM:  TO PRODUCE A WW2 COMBAT FLIGHT SIMULATOR THAT EXCEEDS OUR EPIC, IMMERSIVE, DEFINITIVE WW1 COMBAT FLIGHT SIMULATOR. TO BOLDLY GO WHERE NO SIM HAS GONE BEFORE… TO SEEK OUT NEW SCENARIOS, NEW SINGLE PLAYER EXPERIENCES, AND TOTALLY IMMERSIVE DYNAMIC CAMPAIGN SYSTEMS.

Expanding on OBD’s extensive new software systems as developed for our leading WW1 flight simulator “WINGS OVER FLANDERS FIELDS Ultimate Edition”

WINGS OVER THE REICH will encompass:  AI, Damage Modelling, Flight Modelling, Dynamic Immersive Campaigns, and a Living World Model. As well as new software systems currently under development including Radio Communications and Intercom Systems as specifically required for WW2.

Fly and fight in a fighter squadron or a bomber squadron and experience World War II in the air as never before. Culminating in the extensive devastation of Europe by the day and night bombing raids.  See towns and cities reduced to rubble over time.

“WOTR” will be released in phases (as was WOFF) to achieve the above goals over the next few years. Phase 1 is currently slated for release last quarter 2017 (subject to change as required).

OBD’s Visual Terrain Systems together with Ankor’s optimized Shader Systems render a dynamically lit world and 3D models to realise environments that are truly immersive and representative of the current state of the art.

Ok I'm curious....

Wonder if this will be based on CFS3 as well?

It will be based on the same engine as WOFF.
And will be great!  There needs to be a replacement for my beloved BoB2 since it no longer runs if you upgrade to Windows 10.  Now they might come up with a fix for that but this will at least help along with the renewed development of Cliffs of Dover.  Things are looking up for serious virtual WWII pilots.  At least we will have two options.

News February 19th 2017

Thanks to all that contributed to the Poll.  The results will help us in future planning but note the aircraft we asked about, and people voted on are not necessarily related directly to the final craft we will produce or will focus on! Also other aircraft that we may include may not be in that list.  Trust us it’s for good reasons.

Our new WW2 combat flight simulator is currently well under way in development.  We hope to bring you more development screen-shots soon.  For now here's a few tasters of work in progress.

Please note that all items are subject to change. WOTR too will feature OBD's dynamic campaign system redesigned for WW2 and living world environment, as well as uprated AI systems, to really bring WW2 air battles to life in front of you!

2 October 2018 Contents and Improvements WOTR V1.3 :

1) Fixed a naming issue with the German Cross Medal.
2) Fixed some skin mapping issues with the Hurricane.
3) ME109 mixture control is now automatic at the aircraft level - users no longer need to change the workshops Auto Mixture setting to achieve this for the 109.

24 September 2018 Contents and Improvements WOTR V1.2 :

1) Revised Radio sounds for 'indistinct' enemy spotted direction calls.
2) Revised Hurri Gun reticule.
3) Increased volume of open canopy wind sound and revised.
4) Fixed an issue that prevented the wooded areas in England from rendering.



12 September 2018 Contents and Improvements in WOTR   V1.1 :

1) Fixed Wheel Contact Points on Hurricane and some minor BF109 cockpit model tweaks.
2) Revised 303 gun sounds.
3) Revised Bailout sound.
4) WOTR Key Bindings improvements (V1.5d):
  a) Increased deadband for axis recognition when binding, to take into account that users often do not calibrate their joysticks or rudder bars etc
  b) Implemented an Axis 'Invert' Function to reverse the axis action. (Left click the axis and press the Advanced button -  the  Invert button makes the scale negative)
  c) Automatically removes trailing spaces in the Device ID name for the VKB Joysticks (such as VKBsim Gladiator, VKB Gunfighter Vintage)  and clones (Ravcore Javelin etc), also VKB Throttles and Rudder Bars - users of these devices must 'Reset to Default' then rebind and finally 'Save' again to fix the issue.
5) Incorporated the Key Guide - see the \OBDSoftware\WOTR\documentation folder - (defaul location)            its also available for download on the Support page on this website.
6) Fixed a Quick Combat issue that under certain circumstances caused the game to crash when          selecting bombers and loadouts in the Players second flight.
7) Updated DX9 Shaders - Fixes some stability issues and resolves some specular mapping limitations.
