First steps in HITS  mode are always a nightmare but once you'll learn it,  you'll love it.

I remember my first time,  after a while, i  noticed I was turning around in a  circle ::)   with my general...

Tuna,  if you feel better you can learn the basics at a higher level  like 10, 20  or so.When you feel more confident you can set 2.

chrisreb

Sorry another question. Are you playing with the Kriegspiel Mods on or off?

Praetoria

Start with little brigade in open field map, so it's easiest to learn in hits. U will love it, it's so immersive, and have the feeling to stay in the middle of the battle

chrisreb

Yes I am doing small brigade stuff but as I mentioned my main issue is controlling the commander in any timely manner. By the time I get him to a sensible position to oversee things the action is half over. I am only able to move him by using say 1 to move, halting him, wheeling him, guessing I have wheeled far enough, issuing another 1 to move, stopping, another wheel etc etc.  More like moving an entire Corps rather than one persio!

Praetoria

Usually i put myself near arty (using it at no more than 180 yards). Only if i need ti micromanage go in first line. While i move troops simply use "commander map" with N.

I echo this.

HITS is a game changer. Adds so much immersion. You feel the confusion of the battlefield...The flags coming over the hill...Whats over the ridge? Very immersive.

I use 10 for KS mod HITS. Like Biondo said, increase it.

HITS is my play style of choice.

I stand against Racism, Bigotry and Bullying

Oh, I can use something like 10?  I will try as that may help.

I have no doubt about the immersion level of HITS - It is just that the interface makes it a lot less controllable than it should. I spend more time struggling with the interface than considering any tactics on the battlefield. Still, will keep practising
