I really should start making what I buy - but I saw this on a recent trip to Glasgow and couldn't help myself - as a big trekkie fan.

Not a fan that knows everything about the Trek universe - just a fan.

The instructions

And the sprues

Lots of clear stuff

Dry fit

This thing is over half a metre long!

Some care will have to be taken with the building...there's lots of decals and also lots of windows. I guess the best way to go is to fit the windows, build, mask with liquid mask, paint and decal.

Looking forward to this - but I have no idea when I will honestly get around to it.

o.O   eeeerm...  I do remember how you painted that Harrier back then. But I have troubles to imagine how this will look like.

though i'm pretty sure that this will be something awesome!

That should make for an interesting build. I am also a trekkie, not get dressed up & going to conventions trekkie but do enjoy the movies & TV show.

Dont feel bad about kits stacking up. Why if I had a quarter for every kit sitting in my closet waiting for it turn I could..... Well I could buy allot more models!! LOL
I do have several star trek models waiting my time. The Excelsior, the Reliant, Original Enterprise as well as the D model.

While I really like these new movies & the ships are pretty cool I am not sure how well I like how they fit into the star trek universe. I am not trekkie enough to care much though LOL

You going to do the aztec texture to the hull?

I hope you post more pics of the build progress. Would enjoy following along.

Just 2 days ago I opened the box on a Tamiya M48A3.

I have no idea what I'm going to do with the hull. I will probably do some Aztec shading - whether as much as what is shown on the instructions, I don't know. I will post here when I start to build - but it could be some time!

That Tamiya kit looks great. I'd like to see your build progress.

I would be glad to do a build log. Like you it will likely take me awhile to finish it. Modeling cuts into my simming time lol I typically only find a couple hours a week to work on models at the best of times.
