Personnel from 2nd Battalion The Royal Tank Regiment have been training in Sennelager ahead of possible deployment to Afghanistan on Operation Herrick 18.

They used the Command And Staff Trainer and the Combined Arms Tactical Trainer, known as CAST and CATT, for Exercise Control.

The regiment set up a scenario where Salisbury Plain has been invaded by rebel forces.

The exercise was part of Hybrid Foundation Training, which tests the reactions of a headquarters.
