« on: April 20, 2016, 01:15:08 PM »

Truly... that is not a joke.

-----------------------------------------------------------------

Then again...  we have as well words that are....  easy

Thought...  to understand why there is so many words that mean same thing... take look at this

And dont ask if...

Because answer is Yes

Soooooo....   in conclusion could be said that never challenge Finns in how many forms we have to an word.

Sometimes Finnish is not only weird language

Sadly... most often.. Finnish is...

And if you ever wondered why I have troubles to keep up what month it is on english... here is the reason

More to come if you liked.

Here is some more pictures and text that I found here - https://wesleybranch.com/2013/03/10/the-finnish-language/

This cartoon is a play on the Finnish word for chicken. Being an English speaker I have to say that it is pretty difficult to hear the differences in these words. In many of the words in Finland you see subtle but very important differences. The grammar in Finnish is built into the words and this also makes every letter count. I found this comic funny and clever. You can check out the blog here. It has a lot of play on words.

To be fair here is a comic I found for English. Finnish may have a lot of rules but with English we have a lot of exceptions. America is a country of immigrants and our language is really a reflection of that. There are many different words and pronunciations that if I had to choose one language to learn from the beginning English would be my last choice. I think if I could chose any language to be fluent in it would French or Hebrew. French because it sounds amazing and Hebrew because it goes so far back in history.

Great post Lumi. I loved it, although you did not encourage me to learn Finnish. ;)
