Combat Team Flank Attack at Hamelin 1.5 by Panzer_Leader

Soviet 3rd Combined-Arms Army has penetrated I (BR) Corps along the boundary between 1st Armoured Division and 4th Armoured Division but, due to attrition, Group of Soviet Forces Germany has been forced to commit its second echelon of 20th Guards Combined-Arms Army. 20th Guards Combined-Arms Army has continued the advance at pace but, in doing so, has exposed its flank and NORTHAG has identified an opportunity to counter-attack towards HAMELIN and, if successful, isolate the spearhead of 20th Guards Combined-Arms Army to the west. 3rd Armoured Division commenced the counter-attack yesterday afternoon and elements of 4th Armoured Brigade reached AERZEN, only 11 km from the southern outskirts of HAMELIN, a short time ago. Our counter-attack appears to have caught the enemy off balance and The Grenadier Guards Battle Group, in which you command Combat Team D, will resume the advance towards HAMELIN at first light….
