I really need to fix my video recording software!   

I thought you did? But can't play the recording?

Install VLC Media Player and open the video recording with it. Also, check the "Recording Format" setting in OBS. (Go to Settings, then Output and select 'Recording' tab. You should be able to set the video file type there. I use "flv" but you can set other file type, such as "mov" or "mp4".

VLC can play the .flv video file, but the default micro$haft media player won't.

Ok,  I have downloaded VLS.  I can play the videos, but there is no screen, just audio.  Same problem with OBS.
