Hi All

Here's a heads up on my current project. Coming straight to you by Tornado SkunkWorks.

I am now converting this:
http://www.moodurian.com/tornado/tor/keyboardtemplate.html
to this:

So what? Well, I can now take any keyboard template of any simulation game, let's say or Tornado keyboard template, and convert it into a virtual keyboard, complete with exact reproductions of the keys look. Useful (I think) for training purposes if/when combined with screen recording software like OBS to produce Youtube videos.

This video will give you an idea what is possible with this ApVkp keyboard template

Will keep you posted on the project as it unfolds.

Hi y'all

My project is complete! I turned this:

into this:

My main purpose of doing this was to explore the educational possibilities of virtual keyboards. Specifically, how one can learn from a gamer's keystrokes to improve one's game by making use of the design of the game's keyboard template to lower the barrier and learning curve of a game. The second purpose of this 'project' was to make a fun custom-made virtual keyboard - one that consists of images from an old keyboard template.

Here's my proof-of-concept Youtube video.

So a future project of mine could be to convert this:

into an ApVkp virtual keyboard. Once it is ready, I can couple it with the QiPress Lite keystrokes output display AND a screen recording of a SteelBeasts multiplayer session using Open Broadcaster Software (OBS) to produce an instructive video that shows how well or how horrible I am at SteelBeasts multiplayer-multicrew. Consider it a form of After-Action-Review of the keystrokes and mouse clicks used in a game.

Hope this helps. More on this later.
Cheers,
Frankie Kam

I added a mouse with left-button, centre scrollwheel and right-button highlights.

Now this keyboard visualiser becomes more complete as mouse-clicks during the game are now visible. Of course for Tornado, the mouse-clicks only appear in the frontend GUI menus and inside the mission-builder. By the way, this a virtual keyboard visualiser. The phrase "virtual keyboard" brings to mind a GUI that can be clicked upon or tapped on to create input. A virtual keyboard visualiser however only makes visible the keystrokes that a gamer presses during a game.
