DISCLAIMERI decided to mod Tornado mainly as a challenge to myself to understand and to 'master' the game's assembly language code.
The Tornado mods in this subforum mods are work done on Digital Integration's Tornado 1.0a code. Specifically, the FLIGHT.EXE which is the 3D engine of the European Tornado game. There is no source code of the Operaton Desert Storm available. No source code of the AMP (Advanced Mission Planner). So I have not modded the ODS addon. Save some extra clouds. That's about it for the ODS addon. Tornado's Version 1.0a FLIGHT.EXE is the original source code BEFORE any official patches by the DI team. Those patches fixed a ton of stuff in Tornado 1.0a. And there were several patches right up to Version 1.0e. To the best of my knowledge, none of the patch source code exists.

Therefore, any of the modded FLIGHT.EXE program files that I present here do not contain the DI developer's improvements since version 1.0a. Where possible, I have tried my best to overcome Version 1.0a code weaknesses. For example in Version 1.0a, all it took was one hit from a SAM and you were dead meat. So I've added an audio SAM-close-proximity warning and reduced the damages to the plane if a SAM were to strike.
My point is that Tornado 1.0e out of the box is already a great product. It's like Michelangelo's Sistine Chapel ceiling painting. I'm just adding a few brush strokes to an older version of the ceiling painting, before Michelangelo's held out his thumb and exclaimed, "It is finished". So you can already get almost maximum enjoyment from original, umodded Tornado out of the box.
If my modded FLIGHT.EXE affects the original gameplay you experience while playing the original game, do bear this in mind.
Cheers!
