The French (blue) took the victory with great difficulty.

General Sandman

My outflanking movement was obviously not realized by the french for a long time, while we spotted Herr Paulchens Ambush position inside the woods before.
When starting my approach in battle formation, my intention was to cut off Herr Paulchens Division with 2 regiments, while 1 regiment was to shield from flanking maneuvres of the french reserves.
Unfortunately the french spotted me right in time and Herr Paulchens Division ran back double speed and managed most troops to fall back linking with the french main forces at the objective at the very last moment.
In the following engagement I was opposing Paulchens Inf Division, 1 Cav brigade of dragoons and 2 batteries. Especially the Cav brigade was a constant threat, which forced my Inf into squares. It took nearly an hour until the Cav was peeled to rout, but not before it destroyed 5 out of 8 cannons in several charges through my squares.
My 2 Cav Landwehr squadrons were decimated in emergency interceptions of french Cav charges and therefore ineffective in the final phase of the battle. I also was able to destroy more than 1 battery by Inf and Cav charges.
Neither side had Cav reserves ready for the final cut. The prussians managed too keep the Objective vacant in the last hour. A battle of attrition occured.

Praetoria

French had a great defensive position, a fortress on the hill,  we weren't able to intercept the french division in the forest, so they have big amount of troops up on the hills.
Good battle
