The latest test build is the first version of JoinFS to support X-Plane. It should be functional, with the exception of some shared cockpit features, which will be added shortly. This is basically a chance to get some testing done and feedback on the work done so far.

For those of you who feel so inclined, I have created and uploaded to DropBox a .zip/.rar file.
This is composed of 4 JoinFS "recordings"  .JFS files.
These files are recordings of 1,2,3,&4 T-6 Texan II aircraft flying in rather loose formation on an approximately 10-minute circuit from KNJK rwy 30.
#1 is the base flight, flown by a reasonably proficient pilot, at about 160-180 KIAS, flying #029. It will be the base for the 3 subsequent sorties
#2 is a two-ship, with the lead flown by #029 (as before). The rt wing is #095, and is flown by a rather erratic, sub-standard pilot.
#3 is a three-ship, with the lead and rt wing as before. #3 is #207 on the Left wing, and is flown by a relatively competent SNA (Student Naval Aviator)
#4 completes the "diamond" with the yellow #064 flying the slot. It is flown by a reasonably proficient pilot.

Playing these using the "recorder" function of JoinFs, either offline, on online within the JoinFs session, should enable you to practice your formation flight, and evaluate your performance relative to the various standards of piloting.

I would recommend you "ride" along with each of the aircraft, using the "enter cockpit" facility, paying attention to speed, altitude,turn rate, and signals for turns. Once you've done that, give it a try flying your own aircraft.  It's silly for you to try to fly to the "slot" standard if you can't do better than the #2 pilot (a pilot like that one is probably going to get one more try, and then be dropped from the program).

A suggestion:  Forget about Plan-G, Little NavMap, and "outside spot" view when trying to fly.  It's hard enough inside the cockpit.

For those of you using "triple-head" or another multi-phasing monitor vehicle (resulting in something like 5760x1080), I suggest you go to your simulator Options and ensure you have "Wide Aspect Ratio", or whatever is the equivalent, checked.

If you have P3d V4, you should be able to set your cockpit "view" to WideView Camera  This will give  you a better view that the normal virtual cockpit.

Have fun, and take it in small steps.  Be happy if you can fly to the proficiency of #2, before you try to fly the slot, etc.
