Game Name-Revisited

Happy New Year all, let this be the year we break through the glass ceiling and begin full game development! With that in mind I want to revisit the game name. We started off with a great discussion with lots of brainstorming and a few good names came up, however I got busy getting ready for the expo and forget to spend the necessary time to really evaluate a name. So we quickly chose one for the expo and moved on. Recently a game article writer from a highly respected website suggested a new name. Since renaming became a hurried process this fall, and an esteemed person from the game media suggested revisiting a new name I have decided to re-open this process for a final time. Better to get a great name now than later!

Here is how I am going to execute this process: Over the next week each person may cast votes for up to 3 of their favorite names. If someone has a good name suggestion, please post it here, and it *may* be added to the list. Since new names may appear you CAN CHANGE your vote choices. Unless a clear winner emerges this vote, I will hold another vote for the top 2 or 3 name choices to help determine the winner. As you vote (or offer suggestions), keep in mind that this will be a realistic operational level game that will allow cooperative play with 2 or more players being assigned command roles. Furthermore, the game will allow of "manual" resolution of tactical battles that develop.

After a brief hiatus we are back trying to determine the name. Voting has re-opened, so you can vote for your favorite title of the top 4 vote getters from the previous poll. To clarify, the results of this poll will not determine a final name by itself. The results of the poll will heaviliy influence the final decision on the name based on your feedback, so PLEASE vote so we can get as much feedback as possible!

For those of you who participated, thank you! Going through this process gave us the feedback that we wanted to settle on the game name.  After a series of 2 votes it has come down to 2 clear choices. We didn't have a large data set, and since there was no clear cut winner, we are going to stay with the name Theatre of Operations since a) it is less work to change names on all the various graphics and art, and b) we already have some name recognition established with TO. So thanks again to everyone who gave their feedback!
