As an #‎LAPD reserve officer, I am obligated to training that requires the use of the force option simulator. While there are a number of agencies across the country that are struggling with use of force policy, the LAPD has come a long way in building trust with the community, so I thought it was important to put those community members in the shoes of police officers and see how they react to different scenarios. That is why I invited Najee Ali and Cynthia Mendenhall to share the experience with me.
