Hedy Lamarr - visionary co-inventor of wi-fi, Hollywood actress, scientist, fighter, woman of six marriages, oh well

Google's Tribute to her (today - 9th November 2015!)

Coreldraw 8 and 9 users will probably remember her better.
Never, EVER, underestimate a female - an a beautiful one at that. This article explains everything!
http://areeweb.polito.it/didattica/polymath/ICT/Htmls/Interventi/Articoli/Italia/LamarrPeiretti/Lamarr%20english.htmThe best bit for me is
"Confident that the beautiful Viennese would never be able to understand their technical conversations they talked freely in front of her." Haha! She was a trophy-wife then, but years later she would turn the tables on the Nazis by using everything she remembered and knew about munitions, plus her inventive and scientific skills. That from a Hollywood bombshell! She hated the Nazis and used her beauty (raising war-bonds) and brains (frequency switching patent) to fight against the enemy.
Another good read:
http://www.biography.com/people/hedy-lamarr-9542252 She passed away in year 2000 at the age of 86. If she were alive, I would invite her to be a member of the DOWVU.
