About

In Solar Expanse, you take the lead of one of the early XXI century space exploration companies. Your goal will be to reach the planets, moons and asteroids of the system in order to mine and colonize them.

Optimize the costs and schedule of the flights. Mind that each object is in constant motion, so exact planning is crucial. Utilize the gravity effects and slingshot your rockets further beyond.

There is a multitude of objects in the asteroid belt alone. Some are made of water, others might contain precious metals. Deploy various telescopes, arrays and probes to know the system better and plan your next flights. Scan for the most profitable and useful materials. Research new technologies

Send your rockets and deliver the asteroids to Earth or colonies. Gain the profits to expand your corporation and start the projects on much larger scale.

In time, you will get contracts to establish permanent bases on various objects. Build fuel stations, launch sites, space catapults, elevators and entire colonies!

Your ultimate goal will be to make the moons and planets of different systems habitable. This task will take centuries, enormous resources, technologies and thousands of rocket flights. Drop the water asteroids from the asteroid belt on Mars. Mine Io and Titan for necessary resources.

Once you are done with the Solar System, build an interstellar ship. Once the game is fully released, you'll be able to venture into real and generated systems, such as Alpha & Proxima, Centauri, Trappist, Gliese & Kepler... you name them!

Solar Expanse Bugfix #5
Mon, June 8, 2026

Greetings Space Explorers!

This time we're bringing you a lot of fixes and improvements tested on open_beta branch to default with new 0.26.6.3.14 BETA build! Enjoy!

If you preferred the previous default build, make sure to switch to the "previous" branch!

Changes:

  • you no longer need same amount of LV's as SC's to be able to plan a mission
  • research rework and rebalance (including researches to extract additional resources!)
  • same modules icons are now stacked in the mission planning and info panel
  • added supplies amount in mission planning summary
  • added agriculture complex
  • asteroids cannot be removed if they're being pushed
  • added a starting screen to follow the publisher page
  • added a Metis spacecraft for followers
  • minor layout and visual improvements
  • added some tooltips

Fixes:

  • possible issues with water ice extractor / mining module resource extracting
  • space elevator resources duplication
  • solar sail / EMC requiring fuel
  • incorrect SC / LV's state after launching mission and save/loading
  • facilities not always working correctly
  • generated asteroids remain in object info panel after crashing into object/deleting them in orbit
  • multiple asteroid engines not fully transporting on missions
  • resources duplication by cancelling queued module / facility construction
  • free Stratos flights to orbits
  • solar sails consuming fuel
  • on high FPS and monitors well above 60 hz, game would feel like it's 60 fps
  • can't cancel module and then ship it on a mission
  • incorrect display of upkeep and supplies on easy mode
  • multiple notification sounds overlapping
  • comet trails visible on planets' orbits
  • several exceptions and crashes

Known issues:

  • energy production / usage may not display steadily
  • camera spins when focused on comet on orbit
  • Earth deterraformation happens too fast
  • launching the game issues (black screen) on uncommon multi-screen setups. Please refer to FAQ for a workaround.
  • some of the translated texts might be inaccurate

Please keep in mind that some of the fixes might require you to start a new game to work - otherwise some fixed bugs might still appear in older saves. Many other malfunctions can be fixed temporarily by reloading the game.

Thank you for your ongoing support! And yes, we keep working on the UI!
