OZx v3.5 1.00 Australian Bush flying

FSX or P3D

OZx is proud to introduce OZx_AUS 3.5, our latest upgrade to the Australian virtual bush flying experience! This package includes over 18 new airstrips, a heliport, a 2016 listing of oilrigs and over 20 points of interest around Australia, from the harsh, sun burnt inland areas of Queensland and New South Wales, to the scattering of many Visual Reference Points (VRP) and airstrips around Sydney, South to Strahan in lush Tasmania, and right across to picturesque salt lakes in Western Australia.

From small bush strips like Quilpie and Marulan to regional airports such as Bourke and Hay, this package will suit whatever your taste is!

OZx 3.5 is the result of many hours of effort from our developers and testers. This package is a testimony to each of their efforts, and we all hope you enjoy this new scenery as much as we did creating it!

DCS: F-5E Tiger II by Belsimtek - Early Access

Belsimtek, a third party developer for DCS World has released an early access version of its F-5E Tiger II module.

For US $ 59.99, you get a study sim that is in pretty good shape for an early access version. With working cockpit switches, avionics and target acquisition systems, this is a study simulation

The multiple panels and switches will require some study time. But overall this is a simple aircraft and if you have been flying study flight sims, you can almost teach yourself.

Just like several sources account for the real Tiger, Belsimtek's F-5 is a very agile, fast and forgiving combat aircraft.

Flashpoint Latvia Episode 4 - Falcon 4 BMS - Recon

This series is completely fictional. No political point is intended.

Things are shaping up for an unwanted conflict with Russia. SIGINT has reported comms consistent with administrative movement of a Russian armor force in the Pskov Oblast, Russia. Two F-16AMs from the Royal Danish Air Force stationed in Siauliai Airbase (Lithuania) were tasked with a reconnaissance mission of this Russian force.

One of the two Danish F-16AMs on their way to the area of interest.

The TGP near the centerline has been deemed as able to acquire targets from 10 miles and below. Because the area of interest is some 25 miles into Russian territory, it will be impossible not to violate Russian airspace to identify the Russian forces. Note the GBU-31 bombs, intended as a provocation to the Russians.

Targets -Russian tanks, T-90s, battalion size- identified! Range was ~9 miles. NATO has officially violated Russian airspace now.

Although the Russians didn't turn on their integrated air defense systems in the area, the organic anti-aerial assets of the Russian tank battalion started to track the Danish F-16s. The pilots decided to pull out at relatively...

Combat Mission Final Blitzkrieg - Assault Gun Tactics

Although it was clear to me that assault guns like the StuG IIIG are not the same as self-propelled artillery (Wespe, Hummel vehicles), I think I was utterly wrong about storming and breaking through a defensive line with a combined infantry-assault gun team moving up simultaneously.

The StuG IIIG has a narrow field of fire and lacks the ability to shift it rapidly as tanks do. Unexpected fire from the flanks is one of the most scary liabilities of these assault guns.

In this after action report, I placed my StuG IIIGs in a relatively safe support by fire position and let the infantry roll with the close assault.

The mission. This panoramic view shows my two platoons of German grenadiers (grey icons) and the enemy positions in the background (green icons, US). The enemy has staged a hasty defense centered in a relatively shallow depression cut by a stream. US forces include infantry, HMGs and 2 or more AT guns.

Splitting them up: one of my 4 StuG IIIs moving to a support by fire position. Infantry from 1st Platoon can be seen, moving forward for an assault jump-off position.

Maneuvering into position. Two platoons...
