Flashpoint Latvia Episode 1 - Arma 3 - Deadly Stand

The following series are just fictional. No political point is made.

The backdrop: a 3 men patrol of the 32nd Latvian National Guard Infantry Battalion has been ambushed by pro-Russian guerrillas. Just with enough time to run away from their burning vehicle, the Latvian infantry takes refuge in a nearby church.

In the screenshot above, a young lieutenant deploys his rifles. Making sure to shoot from a defile, the two men in front cover opposite fields of fire (left and right). The third man in the background provides flank protection.

The Lieutenant, busy trying to make contact with the enemy. In this case, he had to pull back to use the church's gate.

The enemy shows up directly in front of the Guards' position. Despite the odds being against the Latvian Guards, they defend their ground and kill many guerrillas.

Training flight in the King Air B200 to learn the avionics, specifically the Garmin G1000. No passengers this time, just a fun flight to put some time in our new King Air since it came back from the shop getting the G1000 upgrade.

Taxing out to take off from Fort Meyers KRSW.

On the runway preparing for take off. Beautiful day for flying here in South Florida.

Climbing out over the water after making the turn back South heading for Key West.

Having a nice cruise at 15K passing over some spectacular reefs coming into Key West.

Passing over the Keys getting ready to turn and line up for approach.

Got so busy on approach learning how to set up the G1000 for approach and final that I did not get any other pictures. Will have a few more next flight.
Overall the King Air from Flight1 is an amazing aircraft and the Garmin G1000 is crazy cool so far. Gonna take some time to get proficient with it.

Middle East War 1948-2010 - The Scarce Resources of the US 1st Cavalry Division

By: JC kriegsimulation

Operation Desert Storm, G+1 day. Originally ordered to stand by as a reserve, the 1st US Cav is ordered to screen the VII Corps right and center.

Right click and open in a new window for a better view. The 1st US Cav (counters outlined white and green) are spread thin for this screen mission. The rest of VII Corps (HQ counter highlighted yellow) is moving north, pushing aside the Iraqi infantry brigades found in its path. Green counters = US, Brown Counters = UK, Light Green (Teal?) = Iraq, Other counters south of the border = Rest of the Coalition.

The starting position of the 1st US Cavalry Division (counters highlighted white and green). Note the enormous gap west of the Division (~40 miles), ripe for picking for Iraqi units. In order to screen this gap, I had to order the cavalrymen to move west.

Eliminated Iraqi units at day 3 of the offensive. Although it may look good, the computer-controlled Iraqi forces are putting up a good fight and maneuvering quite deftly.
