Hi All,
We're about to commence a closed beta of the 1.02 patch for Panzer Battles Kursk – Southern Flank.
We want to limit the number of testers to 100 so that if anything unforeseen happens we're not overrun with technical issues. That said, we have run the patch through significant testing to date and are happy to release it to you.
We have an email address beta.wargamedesignstudio@gmail.com that we ask that you write to if you want to be one of the testers. We will do this first in until we hit our 100 tester target.
The 1.02 beta patch will be the first official release from WDS and we're excited to be close to releasing it to the public.
The current 1.02 Beta Patch changelog is as follows;
Bug Fixes
- Adjusted reporting for air attacks.
- Corrected hex stack reporting when a wreck is in the hex
- Corrected a crash bug when the last man/gun/vehicle is destroyed by defensive fire
- Corrected a fog of war bug when right clicking
- Included a check that all off board artillery is not placed on the map.
- Any fixed unit that is fired on will now instantly un-fix
- Units could use a bridge while in travel mode to enter an obstacle and then exit the hex, rather than lose their whole...

Mission Summary :
October 5th, 1984
You have never thought it was going to happen. The darkest dreams came true. Something that we saw in our training films has suddenly become a brutal reality. 3 days ago Warsaw Pact forces advanced through the border in overwhelming force. The red tide that we have always been afraid of smashed our border outposts all along the front. The main push was through Fulda Gap but NATO forces have seen action all along the German-DDR border For the majority of soldiers in the company it is still is like a dream, which is visible in their young wide-open eyes. Luckily, the training and drills we have practiced for so long are taking over. Everybody knows what to do but the chaos is overwhelming. The horror... the horror...as Kurtz would say.
How did it come to this? WW3 was sparked in the Middle East following combined NATO - Israeli strike on Syrian airbases. Airbases that were full of Soviet instructors and personnel. Over 120 Russians...

First days of the German operation "Blau" in the summer of 1942 in the Oskol river area. The Wehrmacht 6 Army dealt a crushing blow at the boundary of the 28 and 21 RKKA Armies, resulting in loss of control of 28 A units. Soviet rifle divisions are retreating to the Oskol river crossing in Staro-Ivanovka area. In order to allow the Soviet forces to break away from the enemy, the 28 A command assigned the composite detachment of 13 TC a mission to hit the advancing enemy forces from the flank.
• Two operations of 6 turns for each of the parties.
• 369 Croatian reinforced infantry regiment within 100 LID.
• Precisely recreated area of over 40 sq. km: hilly plains with harsh terrain and extensive gullies.
• Historical organizational structure of units at the time of the offensive.
