About
Dark Future is a challenging run-based car combat strategy game with unique time dilation-based real-time combat, set on the ravaged highways of a darkly comic American dystopia.
In 2023 the US government barely functions, and society is stretched to breaking point, as huge corporations hold sway in the cities while the rest of the land slides into chaos. On the highways of mid-America - aka The Big Empty - pollution, stagnation, catastrophic climate change, and gang warfare has resulted in a near-apocalyptic nightmare.
In this dystopian alternative America, the Sanctioned Ops - highway warriors for hire - enforce what few laws remain, but only for those that can afford their services. Matrix Games LLC and the University of Dayton Research Institute (UDRI) are pioneering this vital service and are organizing the first ever International Users Group for Command Professional Edition here at Dayton, Ohio, the heart of Air Force research, engineering, and acquisition excellence. It is the first time that an important research organization has opened its doors to a wide array of military experts for a presentation of a professional version of a commercial videogame.
Delegates are coming from the U.S. Air Force, Navy and Marine Corps, as well as from other NATO organizations and various military contractor organizations. Desert War is Looking Good and Grognard-Worthy
Well, pardon my complete lack of situational awareness. But I heard about this one a while back and never followed up. So, here are some screenshots of Desert War's beta.
To be released very soon, this WEGO grand-tactical/operational war game packs some very interesting and grognardy features.
I just wanted to bring this game up into your list of upcoming releases. A more detailed gameplay overview will follow (the game is very well thought and I don't want to botch a blog post by just showing myself moving units around). So stay tuned, please.
And yes, that WEGO controls in the last screenshot are pretty much like the ones in Combat Mission.

Following on from their award-winning TB-10 Tobago & TB-20 Trinidad, Hawk T1/A Advanced Trainer and PA-28R Arrow III, this highly detailed simulation of the C152 is being developed by Just Flight's in-house team following comprehensive, hands-on research with a real-life C152, G-BGAE, based at Conington Airfield.
The C152 is a two-seater, piston-engine aircraft equipped with a fixed tricycle landing gear, 110hp four-cylinder engine and fixed-pitch propeller – an ideal aircraft for touring and flight training.
The C152 is flown all around the world and our add-on reflects that global popularity. In addition to our UK research aircraft, G-BGAE, the package features liveries from the UK, USA, Canada, France, Australia and Germany.
