About

Starting the game with a couple of peasants and thin resource endowment, you can develop your settlement into a full-fledged city. You can engage on construction, resources processing, farming, equipment production and science development - by giving orders to your subjects or doing work by your own. Greedy robbers will regularly raid your settlement, forcing you to raise a militia and fight back.

Key features:

• Peasant management: Each peasant can be appointed to one of eight professions and will do the tasks and orders corresponding to it. You don't need to monitor every resident. However, if you think that an ordinary peasant is not good in tactics after the first three grades of education you can give orders to squads or individual soldiers directly during the battles.

• Development: start your way from the stone and wood processing and improve your technology, opening new buildings, types of weapons and armour. Your...

Wars of Succession, First Look - My Wig is Bigger Than Yours, And So Is My Army

Welcome to the crazy world of the early 1700's. Wars of Succession (an AGEOD game produced in association with El Gran Capitan and published by Matrix/Slitherine) has been out since a few days already. In this first look, let's see what this game brings into your virtual war room.

Wars of Succession is a WEGO turn-based game with an emphasis in warfare. Turns are one month long and the military forces move in partitions of the terrain that feature military-geography oriented characteristics. These characteristics affect movement, supply and combat. If you have played any of the AGEOD games before, you will find yourself at ease from the beginning. If you didn't, you will have to be patient and learn the basic and advanced features of the game system. Fear not, is not that difficult to start moving around armies, generating new combat units, and making a few political decisions too.

There are a total of 5 campaigns in the initial release of Wars of Succession (see screenshot below). I choose the 1706 campaign for the Spanish War of Succession to explore a few game features.

AGEOD...

(Dev News #89) Gather Together to Gather!
2 FEBRUARY - SAXXON

Hey, Feudalists!

As you've noticed - we have implemented a new system of gathering resources, pretty similar to the system used to search for herbs. This is working for the following groups:

1. Plants
2. Materials
3. Edible resources
4. Herbs

For each group, you will need to use a special ability to find these items nearby - "Search for ...". After using this ability, instanced items will appear on random tiles within 10x10 area. The quantity depends on the player's actual skill level (which means that the influence of stats matter). The quality depends on both the actual player skill level and quality of the tile, where the items appear.

Most of the item types you gather gives one item per gathering action, but there are a few that give a random amount. These are:

1. Sling ammo (1-15)
2. Plant fiber (1-5)
3. Flint stone (1-2)

Also, the gathering of edible resources and plants has a 10% chance to decrease the soil quality of the tile.

With the new system, leveling up the gathering skill has become faster; it now gives you nearly x2 the experience compared to the previous rate. On top of this, the resources are now gathered manually,...
