- Welcome to Dogs Of War Vu.
Cry Havoc! And let slip the dogs of war!
A blast from the past. In 1995, Basil Copeland, Eric Joiner, and Heinz Bernd Eggenstein wrote a Tornado strategy guide as a Win3.1(!) WinHelp file. The file embedded with pictures and tables (2.6MB zipped!) detailed many aspects of Tornado strategy and tactics. See here for Heinz's post on the Hitech Simulation Mailing List.
Its contents remain a classic. What I did in March 2016 was to convert the Winhelp content, which cannot be opened in Windows 10, into HTML. Here is the link to one of the best strategy guides ever written for any DOS flight simulator. http://www.frankiekam.com/tornado/tcsc/tcsc.html
A salute to Basil Copeland, Eric Joiner, and Heinz Bernd Eggenstein. Wherever you guys are now.
Cheers

Situation
Our allies in a village some kilometers south of our forces have become isolated during last weeks heavy fighting. They have constructed entrenchements, minefields and various other obstacles around the village to halt the enemy advance. So far their defence has been successful but the remains of the company holding the strongpoint (called Frog) are running low on ammunition and supplies. HQ have planned a breakthrough to relive the defenders with US forces and also to clear the road to the village for wheeled vehicles like trucks and ambulances. We also want to do this to show our support for the civilian population.
This is a joint army-marine operation with combat engineer detachments.
Mission
The mission will begin at 5:35 AM and you must be in control of objective Frog within 45 minutes.
Your army-marine detachment will move along the road south to objective Frog and clear the way of any obstacles along the way. The bridge just south of your position was destroyed by enemy artillery a week ago and there is a known minefield on...

Military flight sim in P3DV4
Vietnam/SE-Asia missions. Yep, thats right and they fight back
I use: FSX@War, CCP, FSCAI, VACMI (SSW)
There is a new release of FSCAI which makes the enemy ai come alive! here . FSCAI is coming on very nicely. I will use it with the trusty FSX@War
Military simulation is VERY doable in P3D. I enjoy having the entire world to fly in as well as real weather. I can fly a mission in Syria, Libya, Afghanistan, Vietnam. In fact almost anywhere.
