This entire process will be conducted on our community Discord. To participate in the beta, please follow these steps:

Complete a Brief Survey

We want to learn about your gaming habits and expectations for tactical FPS games. This survey doesn't ask for personal details like your address or email. The data collected will be used internally to help us understand our community better and deliver the best game possible.
Once completed, you'll receive the Beta tester role, granting you access to specific beta channels on Discord.

Own the Game
You must own the game to access the beta branch.

Report Bugs
If you encounter any bugs, please report them using the process I'll explain on Discord. This helps Helios address issues quickly.

Post-Playtest Survey
After playing, you'll need to fill out another survey. This is crucial as it allows you to provide feedback on new features, game design, and other aspects of Black One. Your input will significantly impact the game's development. We rely on your feedback to make the game the best it can be.

Please note that while participating in the playtest, you won't receive any compensation. Be prepared for changes and take the time to adapt. If something still bothers you, don't hesitate to let us know 🙂

New Inventory, Operators, and Weapons—Your Way

The Gunsmith system has received a complete overhaul. No more cookie-cutter weapons—now it’s all about your creativity! Build your weapon from the ground up, from base parts to optics and accessories. With more customization options than ever before, your gun will be as unique as your playstyle.

Operators have also been upgraded, offering better animations and customization options. Want a unified squad look? You can now easily apply changes across your entire team with quick shortcuts and save those settings for future missions. Make sure your squad looks as good as they fight!

Speaking of equipment, the inventory system has been revamped for a more streamlined experience. We’ve made adjustments to the weight system based on your feedback, making it more realistic. Your gear now matters—each piece contributes to your camouflage, armor, and overall effectiveness in battle, so choose wisely.






Be the Ultimate Tactical Mastermind

The Tactical Map and Quick Orders UI have been redesigned. It’s never been easier to distribute commands to your team, ensuring smooth and quick execution—after all, time is everything on the battlefield.



The TacMap is essential to Black One Blood Brothers, and we’re committed to making it as intuitive and powerful as possible. You’ll notice these quality-of-life improvements immediately, and we’ll continue to refine them based on your feedback.




And So Much More...

From a brand-new tattoo system to enhanced magnifying scopes and night vision, the improvements don’t stop there. We’ve also made significant AI updates to keep your missions challenging and engaging. A full list of changes will be available in the patch notes on release day.

Dear Operators,

The moment is here. Black One Blood Brothers Early Access 1.50 is almost live, and we’re eager to hear your thoughts and see you in action! Helios has worked tirelessly to integrate the most requested features and fixes from the Beta Test. A special thanks to our playtesters, and extended gratitude to all active players for their constructive feedback—it’s helping us make the game even better.

Now, it's time to dive into the full patch notes of this brand-new update. Please remember that Black One Blood Brothers is still in Early Access, and we are committed to delivering a better experience with each major update.

Main Features

The reworked inventory and gunsmith systems are set to be game-changers: choose your gear and attachments wisely, as they’ll have a real impact on the battlefield. With a diverse range of base weapons, accessories, optics, and attachments, you can create a truly unique arsenal.



Operators have been completely revamped for more immersive and realistic animations. The patch system has also received a significant overhaul.

Precision scopes have been improved for a smoother experience, and a new camo system lets you customize your weapons to your liking.

The character system has been updated with new color options and tattoos visible on forearms.



The long-awaited pre-made squads system is finally here! If you're looking to jump into a mission quickly without configuring your squad, just select from a variety of pre-made options.

The UI has been completely reworked, from the TacMap to squad management and quick orders.



The AI has seen continuous improvements on both your squad’s side and enemy behavior. Expect more realistic actions and better prioritization, but note this is just a step in ongoing AI enhancements.

Smaller details like improved visibility of extraction zones through smoke and the ability to check ammo in your mags have also been addressed.

And the cherry on top: a full revamp of the game's key art, logo, and a brand-new trailer premiering at 6 PM CEST on YouTube!

- Fix: Positioning error of operators during foot insertion on the "Valenwood Villa" map
- Fix: The weapon's recoil in full auto continued to function when the magazine was empty and the player kept the fire button held down
- Fix: ADS could activate after using Battle Plan mode if the "Toggle Aiming" option is enabled
- Fix: Undesirable hole on "Old Fortress"
- Removed: Sliding movement (caused too many issues)
- Removed: Freelook (caused too many issues)

AI
- Improvement: Global behavior of enemies
- Improvement: Enemy chooses its position for taking cover
- Improvement: Enemies have reduced visibility when not on alert
- Improvement: Subordinates will try to return more quickly when they are far from their team leader
- Improvement: Enemies prioritize finding buildings for cover if they are outside
- Improvement: Random enemy patrol zones
- Improvement: Operators choose better when to overcome an obstacle if they can't move forward
- Improvement: Enemy AIs attempt to open fire quickly if they are shot at
- Fix: Error that could prevent an enemy from patrolling correctly and cause them to get stuck
- Fix: Numerous errors with operators unable to reach their waypoints
- Fix: Error where a door could be closed mistakenly by an operator or an enemy

New Maps

Prepare for two new battlegrounds: New World Stronghold and Carrier Desk. Each map brings unique challenges that will test your strategy and adaptability.

On Carrier Desk, you?ll need to get creative. The map?s tight corridors and open spaces, along with aircrafts, helicopters, crates, and boxes, offer limited cover. Once you?re in a corridor, it?s you or them?so stay sharp and choose your path carefully.

The Stronghold map offers more deployment options but raises the stakes. Enemies will exploit natural cover and high ground, so adjust your tactics to maintain the upper hand.








UAV Device

Introducing a new level of air support: the UAV reworked, arriving in EA 1.51. This powerful tool unlocks four tactical options for you and your squad:

Recon:
Fly over enemy positions, locate hostages or VIPs, and secure vital intel.
Ping a Landing Zone:
Need supplies? Mark the optimal landing zone and retrieve your gear fast.
Missile Strike (Small Area):
Execute up to 30 precision strikes with a limited blast radius.
Missile Strike (Large Area):
For maximum impact, launch one of four large-scale strikes. Use them wisely.

Just make sure one of your operators is carrying an UAV kit to call for air support.




Custom Campaign Feature

Here?s your chance to design the perfect military campaign. With the Custom Campaign Editor, you can customize every detail?from mission names and briefings to officers in command and intel?crafting your own legend within the Black One Blood Brothers universe.

Take it further by creating custom maps to integrate into your campaigns, then share them on the Steam Workshop. It?s your time to shine, Operator?unleash your creativity and write your legacy.




Community-Driven Enhancements

Helios is always listening to feedback that makes a meaningful impact on the game?s realism and the community?s experience. Based on valuable insights from you, this update will include:

New Ambient Animations for NPCs: Enemies now display contextual animations while idling, creating a more immersive and lifelike environment. More diversity in the hostages would be noticed as well.
Role Assignment for Operators: Assign roles to optimize your squad?s effectiveness and streamline battlefield management.
Quality of Life Improvements: Numerous enhancements to make your experience smoother and more engaging.
And there?s even more: cosmetics, new gear, weapons, attachments, and various fixes are all included in this update to keep the experience fresh and realistic.

UAV device has never seen before

Air support just got a massive upgrade. The outdated radio kit has been retired and replaced by the advanced UAV Kit, giving you four powerful options for air superiority. Use it to scout the terrain, call in precise artillery strikes, or identify the perfect landing zone for supply drops. Take direct control of the drone, and turn the tides of battle with cutting-edge tactical capabilities. The sky is no longer the limit?it?s your advantage.


A more lively world

The world of Black One Blood Brothers is evolving. Enemies now exhibit more dynamic behaviors, interacting with each other during idle moments to create a more immersive battlefield. Hostages have also been overhauled with greater diversity and more realistic responses to threats, raising the stakes of every rescue mission. Additionally, the mall has been enriched with new furniture and cover options, adding layers of strategy to firefights.

I want to thank you for your unwavering support for Black One Blood Brothers. Whether through your feedback, encouragement, or simply by being here, it means the world to me. Developing a game solo is a constant challenge, but you help me move forward every day. Thank you!

Today, I?m sharing my ?roadmap? for the game, highlighting the different aspects I?ll be working on to continue enriching and improving Black One Blood Brothers in 2025.


Mocap Suit Acquisition

A significant technical milestone on my end: I?ve acquired a Mocap Suit! This tool will allow me to create much more realistic and varied animations. It will take some time, but the goal is to greatly enhance immersion for operators, enemies, and cinematics.




New Content

New weapons, accessories, outfits, and equipment?exciting content is coming this year!

Western Forces: Inspired by Western special forces, featuring a variety of weapons and equipment.
Eastern Forces: Bringing an Eastern flair, with unique styles and gear.

These additions will provide even more customization options for your squads.




New Operator Customization

I?m also working on improved operator customization. Soon, you?ll be able to modify their body shapes and adjust their facial features. I hope this new feature helps you make your squad even more unique.


New Maps: Psychiatric Asylum and Mountain Region

Two new maps are in the works:
Psychiatric Asylum: A tense, tactical map designed to feel oppressive.
Mountain Region: A more open area featuring houses and strategic points.


Gameplay Improvements

This year?s focus will be on refining gameplay!

AI with more precise and adaptive behaviors.
Revised sounds to enhance atmosphere.
A more intuitive user interface for smoother navigation.
And, of course, bug fixes.




Enhanced Immersion

I?m continuing to work on immersion and narrative elements in the game. This includes more polished cinematics, refined animations, and new voiceovers. These are small steps, but I hope they make a big difference for you.

Time to head to the squad editor: the Western Forces are here! This update brings a wide array of new equipment, weapons, and gear inspired by Western nations. From new backpacks, gloves, and tactical pouches to grips, suppressors, barrels, and base weapons, you now have the tools to shape your squad exactly how you envision it. Will you opt for a fully realistic approach, or craft a unique mix-and-match setup using your favorite components? The choice is yours!




Introducing AI Improvements

Your feedback has always been our priority, and improving AI is at the core of this update. Enemy NPCs now feature new resting stances when idle, adding a touch of realism to their behavior. Alongside their existing animations, discussions, and poses, they can now patrol with flashlights, scouring every corner for signs of your operators at night. No stone will be left unturned. Pay close attention to their actions: enemies will now take cover more intelligently, adapting to their environment in smarter ways. Additionally, squad improvements have been made to enhance teamwork. Squadmates now exhibit a better, faster, and smarter understanding of complex environments, allowing them to follow their leader more efficiently.

Overhaul: Aim Down Sight (ADS) System
Immersion has always been at the heart of Helios? vision. That?s why aiming has been completely reworked. No more jarring camera movements?the transition into your sights is now smooth and natural, giving you tighter control when it matters most.


Overhaul: Shooting Animations & Recoil
To take realism to the next level, the recoil system has been rebuilt from the ground up. Instead of static or unnatural reactions, Operators now use dynamic data to generate procedural recoil patterns with every shot. Reloads and weapon handling have also been updated with smoother, more lifelike animations.




Overhaul: Leaning System

Tactical movement matters. In FPS view, your operator will now lean automatically when close to walls or corners. You?ll control the lean direction with your mouse to peek around angles while staying in cover and maintaining stealth.

Tactical Depth, Reinforced

You asked?Helios delivered.

You can now synchronize shots on multiple targets in real-time. Simply mark your enemies, and they?ll be automatically assigned to the nearest Operator with a clear line of sight. All that?s left is to give the signal

This system allows for faster, more fluid decision-making without opening the TacMap, enhancing your squad?s tactical efficiency and your immersion.




Combat Improvements Across the Board

The Aim Down Sight (ADS) system has been reworked for a smoother, more responsive experience.

Visual issues with certain sights? Fixed.

The recoil system has been overhauled for more realistic handling.

And thanks to a new automatic leaning system, your Operator now adapts dynamically to cover?no extra input needed. Peek smarter, move smoother.




New Cosmetics & Gear

Dress your squad for the mission:

New weapons, camos, accessories, and equipment inspired by Eastern European military forces are now available.

German Language Support

For the very first time, the game is fully available in German. This marks the beginning of Helios?s global localization plan, with more languages to be added in version 1.0 at the end of Early Access.

Mark your calendar as the deployment of the next major update for Black One Blood Brothers will be done on June, 12, 2025, 9AM CEST (Paris hour)


This note will be short, but:

    - Some of you were unhappy that the largest maps were gone. While not bringing them back in the campaign to preserver the performances, you will be able to craft your own missions with a very large map. Don't forget to share your creations on Discord!

    - There will be light: dynamic lights will be reworked, introducing new gameplay opportunities

    - Map improvements: 4 maps are being reworked for this update! Tell us which one you're expecting in the comments!

    - A new immersive option that you'll be able to enable or disable

    - Other improvements and fixes

- Improvement: AI enemy spawn-point logic in ?Siege? or ?War? mode

- Improvement: Time to deactivate a spawn point in ?Siege? or ?War? mode

- Improvement: Adjusted the delay before an enemy not yet in firing position opens fire

- Improvement: Enemy takes longer to aim and fire if their weapon was just slung on their back

- Fix: Location errors of some assets on "Compound" Map
