SECFOR BRIEFFrom: Diplomatic Incident, Dip.Incident@foreign-office.net
To: FOSTER Teams 1,2,3,4 and support attached to EQ Embassy, Altis.
Gentlemen.
I will keep this as brief as possible.
My government has long sought friendly relations with the Altian government. Given the recent turbulent events of the past several weeks, the view of my government is that the time is right for a visit by one of our rising star diplomats to try and ease tensions in the region. This diplomat will be arriving by helicopter at Altis airport in three days. I want your teams there to meet him and provide an escort from the airport, through four as yet unknown towns and from there to an as yet undisclosed location, from whence FOSTER team Bacardi will take over providing security for the diplomat.
I will be frank when I say that I do not expect this task to be easy. The diplomat will be travelling by SUV through several of the more violent areas of Altis, and since clashes between rival gangs of bandits, guerillas and CSAT and NATO forces remain at an all time high, I expect the risk of being engaged by any of these factions to be likewise high. Let me be quite clear, your job is to safeguard the diplomat, all other considerations are secondary.
In order to provide security for said diplomat, you will be divided into up to four teams depending on numbers,
Heineken,
Kronenberg,
Fosters, and
Budweiser. Heineken and Kronenberg team will start out at the airport providing the intimate security for the VIP, they will maintain the close security perimeter around the diplomat and secure the terminal building itself. Team Budweiser will be observing from the airport control towers to provide overwatch and control of the access routes to the terminal building and the pan itself. Fosters team will be on standby overhead as the QRF.
The diplomat will move from the helicopter, through the airport terminal building to the waiting motorcade. The diplomat will be travelling in an SUV- Callsign
Smirnoff. Heineken and Kronenberg will be travelling in two up-armoured HUNTER MRAP vehicles. Fosters will remain overhead in the Hellcat, and it will remain as QRF, it will also use its enhanced thermal optics packages to scan for any ambushes ahead of the convoy.
If we have enough numbers, Budweiser team will move ahead of the convoy in an OH-9 Little-Bird and will set up at each town to recce each town prior to the diplomat's arrival. Be advised, our local elements inside FIA are warning of increased insurgent activity and preparations for ambushes and close quarter strikes. We can expect anything from IEDs, VBIEDs to roadside ambushes and suicide bombers. Our local elements have also made us aware of five areas where we expect an ambush to be highly likely. If we are unable to make up sufficient numbers, priority will go to manning callsigns Heineken and Kronenberg, followed by Fosters and Budweiser in that order.
Plan B:I recognize that FOSTER has been busy of late, and this will be a substantial drain on FOSTER numbers. If FOSTER is unable to muster a substantial force for protection, there is a plan B. Plan B will be a low-profile insertion by boat, at a point to be defined on the briefing day. The diplomat will then be driven to the towns he was scheduled to meet in in a locally procured vehicle, or potentially a convoy of locally procured vehicles. If this is to be the case, then it is in your interests to dress like locals. No suits and ties, no overt body armour, and certainly no armed vehicles. You will be relying on your wits far more for this option, and your ability to talk your way past an ambush or checkpoints.
Locations: TBC by Foreign Office
Regulations:This is an official EQ-FO mission, therefore you are all expected to be turned out appropriately. You will be using HK-416 rifles, HK-417 marksman rifles and M249 LSWs. Ten magazines for the rifles plus one in the rifle, five boxes for the LSWs. Remember gentlemen, you need to look professional, not like a bunch of FIA hill-fighters so jeans and polo-shirts at a minimum. No combat uniforms either, we're not here to fight a war. No RPGs or AT on your backs, though you can take one or two in the trunks. If low profile, go for locally sourced weapons and ammunition.
ROE:Fire only when fired upon, confirm your targets before engaging. Do not inflict un-required collateral damage, or smoke check civilians unless you can prove unequivocally that he represented a threat. Gentlemen, if you have to shoot people and you can prove you did it legitimately, I will back you all the way to Geneva, but if you screw up and shoot a civilian, I will personally throw you under a bus.
