Makeshift trenches
« on: August 25, 2016, 09:41:14 PM »
Normal trenches are not available in in Steel Beasts unfortunately but I thought I would give a try to makeshift solution. Here's the result  :)

Two M113 emplacements combined make a good trench. Troops are covered from enemy fire and more importantly - they fire at the enemy. It worked both for HMG here and a regular infantry platoon.

I love the idea but i do see a potential flaw.
As we know in normal ground the troop disappear in to the ground when taking cover. This makes it hard for us to hit or see and potentially end up with a RPG on us.

I feel that if the troops take cover then the will disappear deeper in the ground and still be able to hit us.

Version 4.0 was suppose to fix that. They should only have a bump out like digging a foxhole. They could be some concern with the different terrain then normal ground. This should be tested.
