Havoc?
« on: October 12, 2015, 11:09:13 PM »
Update

Havoc is an important part of this group and gives us all that little bit “extra”. This part of the unit has seen no life for a while. I have been thinking about it for a while and have been slowly putting together a plan. Very slowly that is.

I started Havoc with the intention of “deeper” learning and understanding. That is still the aim. We have some new members who have expressed a desire to join the group. This of course would only happen after the normal process.

I will keep you all posted.

A list of the things to expect in HAVOC

•   Mine breaching
•   Bridge laying
•   Artillery
•   Multi-crew
•   Recon
•   Advanced vehicle systems

The list is not complete.

What I would like to see implemented is a course in instructing one how to really use the M1SEP, 2A5, 2E tanks. I am most accustomed to the SEP but I have no idea how to use the 2A5 properly. CITV?  Of course, this would come under the advanced systems you listed.

Hi Con

What you have listed is on the "list". It will be an in-depth and thorough set of tutorials. The sessions will not focus on enemy contact alone.

18:00 GMT is little bit late for me. Id prefer 17:00 GMT or earlier.

I can participate on later times yes... but it will fuck up my Mondays if so.

We need to learn proper bridge laying tactics.
Comprising of:

Reconnaissance ( using vehiles / troops to find at least 2 suitable crossing point)
Artillery Barrage ( before laying and then just before crossing)
Escort ( providing protection for the asset)
Laying ( planting the bridge correctly )
Communication (time on task, time for lay, when complete and when the crossing is open)
Mark route ( in SB case map marking)
The crossing
And finally security

We should start by the most basic, that is platoon maneuvering, if we can't do that everything else is useless, and we can't, as everybody saw on last Suomussalmi mission.

And that's another thing, everybody should be able to use at least 1 tank(leo or m1) perfectly, from TC and gunner position, maybe is better start from here.
And Conn i made a Leo guide for havoc a lot of time ago, all you need to now about leos on SB is there, should be on the TS file browser,if not ask Asid.

We will have a structured set of tutorials/sessions. Engaging the enemy should not be our only focus.

We will learn systems, comms, manoeuvring etc.

It will be a reboot. Everyone that wishes to join will have to apply. The original caveats apply.

Thoughts?
