VBS2 Tank Gunnery Enhancements

This video shows a subset of the tank gunnery enhancements developed for the UK MOD Challenger II tank gunnery project. Features shown include:

Parallax Error Correction: This sequence shows the improvements in accuracy from VBS2 1.40 to VBS2 1.50. The SABOT and HESH or HEAT rounds can be seen to more accurate with the gunnery enhancements that have been developed;in addition new particle effects have been added to replicate the visual effect of the round striking the target. The COAX has also been enhanced with the proper pattern of dispersion.

Gun and Sight Stabilisation: This demonstrates the enhanced gun and optic stabilisation. As can be seen the optics and the gun have indepedent stabilisation.

Hunter-Killer Sights: This sequence demonstrates the Hunter Killer system. On the left is the Commanders optics and the right the gunner. The Commander can lay the gunner onto a target with a press of a button and then allowing the commander to scan for other targets.

Firing on the Move: This sequence shows the gunner engaging multiple targets whilst on the move. The enhanced gunnery and fire control systems allow for an accurate replication of modern armoured fighting vehicle combat. Lase/Lase Lead lock and the gunnery systems are all replicated.

Gearbox Simulation: This sequence shows the customisable gearbox options present within VBS2. Both the gearbox and transmission can be customised. PhysX improvements include suspension systems and step/obstacle climbing.

Weapons Fire SFX: This sequence shows the custom Sound FX possible within VBS2. This sequence shows the main armament and the COAX being fired.
