This scenario is designed as a tactical decision game, with the player having no more than 10 minutes to develop and issue a plan of action. Before reading the narrative below, set a timer for 10 minutes and start it as soon as you have finished reading. Good luck, and have fun!

"Sir, Iron 6 is calling for you on the net."

Your loader's words prompt you to open your eyes and groggily reach for your CVC. Those two hours of sleep you've been getting for the past five days are starting to take their toll. "Iron 6, this is Atlas 6; go ahead,"� you say, trying to suppress an oncoming yawn.

"Atlas 6, Iron 6; Brigade just reported that they spotted an enemy tank battalion heading straight for your TAA." The words from your Battalion Commander snap you right awake. "I don'€™t know how they snuck past our CAV Squadron, but they are attacking straight for our main command post, and you are the only element we've got to stop them in time."

"How much time are we talking?" you ask.

"They'€™ll be on top of your TAA in about 15 minutes with about 30x tanks; expect 2/3rds of those to be T-80s and 1/3rd to be T-90s. Expect them to be supported with about two artillery battalions and possibly some rotary-wing assets. I need you to assume a hasty defense and prevent them from achieving a breakthrough south of PL BOW."

"Roger, what support can I expect?"€� you ask, hoping for more assets than your organic company team. Your 1SG established the company trains and mortar section about 3 km to your southeast. You and your XO are co-located with your 2x M1A1 tank platoons and 1x attached M2A2 mech infantry platoon. You know that each M2A2 carries a Javelin ATGM team for 4x total. You've been wanting to see how these perform. It looks like you are soon going to get your wish.

"We have no maneuver assets that'€™ll reach your position in time."€� Iron 6'€™s voice is grim as he says this. "You'€™ll have an artillery battalion in support that can process 3x fire missions simultaneously. HE isn'€™t a problem, but you'€™ll be limited to 240 rounds of smoke and ICM. We'™ve also given you 3x priority targets; have your FSO adjust them, and the guns can get rounds on target in about 30 seconds."�

"Is there anything else I should know?" you ask as you begin considering your options.

"The enemy's DTG Recon has been dug in north of PL AXE for the past few days. Based on reports from the CAV Squadron, they'€™ve got multiple ATGM teams in good overwatch positions. Do not advance beyond PL AXE. You'€™ll have one hell of a fight, Atlas 6; give €'em hell! Iron 6 out."€�

You take a deep breath before you cue the mic. You'€™ve got 10 minutes to develop a plan to prevent the enemy'™s tank battalion from achieving a breakthrough south of PL BOW. That 10 minutes starts now.
