Convoy Ambush - Fictional (Beginner Level) - 4.377 2.0.0 by UlyssesSockdrawer

This fictional scenario sees the player command a mixed force of Leopard 2A4 MBTs and reconaissance Bradleys to ambush and destroy a RedFor convoy moving from east to west before it can reinforce RedFor's main guard force off-map to the west.

The scenario has no time limit set, but is limited in its scope. To finish the scenario enemy convoy elements must be below 51% strength, and the Blue player must fire Trigger 1 when blue forces have reached the area marked as 'Evac Zone' on the map.

1) SITUATION:
     a) Enemy:
RedFor is expected to move a mechanised manoeuvre element of approximately company size along MSR WILSON westwards from their current position. An additional mechanised infantry company with armoured support is situated North East, and is expected to come up in support if the reinforcement convoy comes under contact. Enemy Intent is to SUPPORT the MAIN GUARD element to the west, IOT DENY friendly forces further ground.

    b) Friendly:

BG Commander’s intent is to DEFEAT enemy forces in the region.
Coy Commander’s intent is to PREVENT enemy reinforcement iot support the battlegroup mission of DEFEATing enemy forces in the region.
Coy commander’s mission is to INTERDICT enemy lines and to PREVENT enemy Main Guard positions from being reinforced.

A Coy will CANALIZE and DESTROY enemy forces moving along MSR WILSON by ambush. B and C coys will BLOCK the western end of MSR WILSON and the surrounding area IOT to PREVENT any enemy that have escaped Element 1’s ambush from reaching enemy lines.

2) MISSION:
Alpha Element is to CANALIZE and  DESTROY enemy reinforcement convoy.

Intent:
It is my intent to FIND the reinforcement convoy moving along MSR WILSON, and to subsequently DESTROY it via ambush.

My main effort lies with the MBT Element in their mission to DESTROY the convoy.

3) EXECUTION:

Intent: Alpha Company to DESTROY RedFor convoy in marked killzone, then evacuate and return west to friendly positions.

Execution:
Our force, consisting of an Ambush Element of 1-A and 2-A, and a mechanised reconnaissance element of 3-A, will step off from friendly harbour areas at 2330hrs. Elements will transit enemy lines under cover of darkness, and will subsequently occupy designated positions overlooking MSR WILSON. Once this has been completed, BRADLEYS will locate the enemy reinforcement convoy. Once sighted, spotting elements are to inform the ambushing force, and will subsequently retire to designated covering positions. The ambushing force will then ambush the enemy convoy along MSR WILSON. Orders to ceasefire will be given via radio. If enemy reinforcements have not transited MSR WILSON via 0900 hrs, or for any other reason requiring the operation to be aborted, the order to withdraw will be given via radio. Once complete, all elements will retire and exfiltrate back to friendly lines via the North West and will return to routine.

        i) Manoeuvre:

Initial passage of lines:

      1-A to divide and occupy Ambush Points. Selection of Ambush Point at commander's discretion.
      2-A to occupy Blocking point
      3-A  to occupy Observation position

Upon sighting the enemy:
3-A to withdraw to Covering Position.

Upon completion or abortion of ambush:
All elements to exfiltrate to the North West.

Termination of operation 0900

Actions on:
Contact on the way to the ambush.
Halt, report, engage. Other elements will immediately move up in support and await QBOs.

Contact while in ambush positions:
Halt, report, engage. Ambush will be terminated. All units will await QBOs.

Enemy counterattack:
QRF Expected. Halt, Report, Engage, Await QBOs.

Contact while exfiltrating from the ambush site.
Report, attempt to break contact. If this proves impossible, report. Other units continue exfiltration but await QBOs.
