« on: April 30, 2020, 05:12:30 PM »
I started to test P3D v5 and i can say it is a crazy FPS booster, thanks that they using now DX12.  Now is the only question, do we need to pay for the module updates or note.

FS Elite has a running list of addon status which lists if they are charging an upgrade fee, no upgrade fee - free update, or just works out of the box.  From what I've been following most 3rd parties are offering free updates.  Even my favorites at PMDG and FSLabs are offering free updates.  There's been some internet shaming to the devs that do charge a fee, really comes down to how much work does it take to update cuz a lot of stuff just works out of the box.

Some complex addons need more work as they operate partially outside of P3D, Milviz advanced modules for example. Others require very little or no work. Some devs just like to charge anyway...Like PMDG did when P3D came out  :punishment
