I have posted a "package" for a training sortie.
Flown from KNLC, the total operation takes about +- 2 hours (time dependent on loiter time with the AAR Tanker).
A Typical training sortie from KNLC, flown without external ordnance/tanks (increased drag coefficient as well as the risk of "slinging" something off in the canyons)
Full internal fuel should get you to the tanker with about 5000 lbs remaining and, so long as you ensure you have at least 10,000 lbs aboard when clearing the tanker, you should be back over Lemoore with at least 5000 lbs in your aircraft.
It is a challenging sortie, combining IFR/ATC flight to and from the complex, coordination with JOSHUA Control (the atc for the R-2508 complex), low-level Nap-Of-Earth flight in a beautiful setting, AAR rendezvous with an F/A-18E Tanker for AAR, and IFR RTB (Should you wish to fly the Hi-TACAN approach to rwy 32L.
I have flown this route using MegaScenery Earth photoreal for California and Nevada. At this time of year (winter) you can accurately see the snow lines depicted, as well as the terrain features referenced in the R-2508 routing.
Please address problems, corrections, and comments as replies to this thread
