Just wanted to post this here for anyone not real familiar with Combat Mission games or thinking about poking their toe into the water.

Disclaimer: This is in NO way meant to start any arguments between CM and Graviteam fan bases.  This is strictly a video explaining the difference and one of the main reasons for my love of this series.  Neither system is right or wrong.

BTW this guy makes really cool videos if you watch some of his others. They are presented as kind of theatrical AARs.

I'm on a Combat Mission high right now. I have a PBeM game of Black Sea and Final Blitzkrieg running. I really enjoy the Graviteam games as well, but I'm a bit more familiar with the Combat Mission interface, which means I lean towards it whenever I'm short on time. (And who isn't short on time, right?)

Fancy a game, Stardog? (And I'll extend that to anyone who likes PBeM.) I'm not competitive, but I could hopefully muster enough effort to be slightly more effective than a speed bump ;)

Also, thanks for the videos.

I'm down for anyone who wants to play Combat Mission via PBeM--just send me a personal message. I own Black Sea, Final Blitzkrieg, and Fortress Italy. I've been thinking about buying Red Thunder because I've been listening to some Audible books on the Eastern Front.

Red Thunder is great.  Just like the old Eastern Front version from the original games it has very large and open maps for lots of tanks.

I've seen this guys CM videos before,he does a great job with them. Panzer Pajamas also does great CM videos. The video did make me want to go out and buy Fortress Italy, might be fun with the different units and terrain...... But i still have a ton from Red Thunder and Normandy big bundle to play, not to mention all the user created scenarios. If i buy any more CM games it will be the Italy stuff.

I don't buy all the wargames I want, I just buy more than I need.

Ya he really does do a great job and I agree Italy is a really good one. Highly recommended as its very different kind of fighting from the others.

Lots of tight, twisting hilly maps.
