Tacview 1.5.4 - problems with add Static Objects
« on: March 27, 2017, 09:41:39 AM »
Hi all

First, my english ist not perfect.

We use tacview 1.5.4 for our trainings FSX and Prepar3D (http://www.vfltg.ch). For a training we wanted to insert static objects in Tacview (Airports and another Objects) - by
instructions - http://www.tacview.net/documentation/staticobjects/en/.

But -  it does not work, the static object is not visible :-( I have downloaded Example IT-BMS-Airports.xml and installed this by %ProgramData%\Tacview\Data\Static Objects\ or %APPDATA%\Tacview\Data\Static Objects\ - unsuccessfully :-( What are we doing wrong?

We haved: Windows 7 x64, FSX SP2 with Acceleration Pack.

Regards

Alex

Hi Alex,

Each collection of static objects can be tagged for a specific map so they do not conflict between deferent simulators.

For example, the file you have downloaded will display objects only if you are displaying Falcon 4.0 terrain, because of the following tag:

Code: [Select]
<Objects MapID="Falcon 4,Falcon 4.BMS">
To make it visible with real-life maps and FSX/XPlane for example, just remove the MapID tag.

Let me know if this fix your problem.
