Excerpts of the battalion commander's orders for...
1) SITUATION:
a) Enemy:
Russian Tank Battalion is in attack EAST of our AO.
Enemy main force is advancing along the Saanijärvi road and it consists of:
-Tank company (T-80)
-2x Mechanised infantry platoons (BMP-3)
Enemy's expected objectives are:
-to take control of the Crossroads area
-and to continue attack NORTH towards UTTI Airfield
b) Own:
Tank platoon A / 3.PSVK (you) as part of 1st Motorized jäger company is to prepare a hasty defence and to defeat the enemy
2) MISSION AND EXECUTION:
A / 3.PSVK (you) will attack South defeat any enemy you encounter and take defensive positions on the Crossroads area.
You are to delay th enemy attack until the motorized Jäger platoon C/ PSJK may prepare the Engagement Area (EA) - Brown
A / 3.PSVK may retreat NORTH and take defensive position A - A when C / PSJK is in position (approx. 10 minutes into the mission, there will be a radio message by Company-CO).
However you may decide not to retreat and stay on Crossroads if the sittuation permits.
ii) Fires:
1 Battery with 6 Guns and 3x priority markers

There are two sets of pre-planned fires:
HE - in the beginning on the crossroads area to defeat any enemy light reconnaissance, the strike will end just as you reach crossroads area
HE on the EA - BROWN area if enemy tanks reach it
iii) Additional assets:
HOTEL / 3. PSVK has established a maintenance area north side of battle position A-A that will fix anything in 10 minutes
Scoring:
To win the mission you must:
- Not allow a single enemy AFV break through towards UTTI and
- To have at least 1operational tank at the end of the mission
The mission ends after 30 minutes, or if the # enemy AFVs in AO is < 3 for 3 minutes
or if all enemy vehicles are destroyed
or if the enemy achieves a breakthrough
