Title: In game absence
Post by: Cougar11 on June 23, 2015, 02:48:00 AM
This is a reminder to everyone, as per our online game rules. During a mission where you will have to leave and it is known that you will have to, it is your responsibility to let people know prior to the start of the mission. Please do not take on a leadership role of platoon leader or above if you will have to leave at some point. We understand that things come up that are not planned. Please make all efforts to limit these things, and make sure you properly hand off your units to someone anytime you have to leave. If it will be a short time, you can stay in game, and get your units back when you return, if not we thank you for handing them off, and for playing as long as you could.

Not doing this, or just walking away from your computer is a game immersion killer, and destroys the cohesion of those playing!  :(

Taking on leadership roles. We understand that being a CO or Company commander is not for everyone, or that everyone has the skills to do this. Platoon and section commands can have some of the same issues. On the other hand, we need people to step up into these lower roles to first gain some experience as a section or platoon leader, which will translate to increased levels in the future. It also allows you to gain confidence over time operating like this. For those that are always the CO, platoon leader, or section leaders, it allows them to just have fun, and not always take on these responsibilities. ;)

IMO it would be unfair to think you could show up everyday, to every mission, and just get to play your one tank, get all the fun, and not ever have to take any responsibilities in our missions, and allow those that do day in and day out, to have a little fun too. ;D

Please take the time to do what is needed for everyone in the group, increase your knowledge, and experience, and abilities for yourself, and the greater good of the VU.  8)

Great post Cougar. I agree. On last few games there has been some leavers and that bothers me. I do understand that things happen.. but has this been more frequent than is normal?

I wish great gaming time for everyone and if I can improve it somehow. Even by behavior or way of talking or doing just let me know. Lets play as a team, and leave no one behind.
