Classic war movie. They used real planes (no CGI in those days) could only film when the weather permitted. The sourcing of real aircraft for the Battle of Britain movie kick-started the warbird movement (the reconstruction and preservation of WW2 planes) as we know it today. Technical advisors of this 1969 United Artists movie were, amongst others, Douglas Bader, Adolf Galland, James Ginger Lacey, Peter Townsend and Robert Stanford Tuck. Amazing!
See http://www.daveswarbirds.com/bob/frames.htm for images of the making of the film.
