You must apply in advance. For this rule is set for good reasons, not having signed up until 19.50 GMT latest, means you wont play. If I remember correctly, I (Bonaparte) had about 9800 casualities, while the Allies (Commander Hill) suffered more than 11000. Furthermore I owned the objective all the time.
