Title: Who Is Using Steel Beasts?
Post by: Rinix on October 18, 2017, 05:21:13 PM
I was read eSim Games' list of partners last night, and found that they had recently joined the ETSA. Their member page declares that (http://www.etsa.eu/clients/esim-games/):

Steel Beasts is in use in more that twelve nations on four continents.
So who are they? There's at least 13 nations using it:

Finland uses it atleast for CV9030 grew training.

Though I do believe that they use other softwares too, not only steelbeast. That is what I have read from finnish tank magazine.

Yes, Finland is already in my list as number 2.

Interesting thread.

To what extent do these countries use SB? Specific to a certain vehicle? etc

Lumi's already said that Finland uses it for crew training. He's right:

Austria is using Steel Beasts for crew training and exercises:

And of course, like Ssnake has already posted, Spain is using Steel Beasts in large exercises (http://www.steelbeasts.com/topic/11510-a-visit-to-spain/). Judging by comments made by gibsonm (I can't remember where I saw them), the Australian army also uses Steel Beasts for large exercises.

Actually, it looks like eSim Games join ETSA all the way back in 2015, as they were using the ETSA European Pavilion: http://www.etsa.eu/wp-content/uploads/2017/07/ETSA-IITSEC-17-Pavilion-Flyer.pdf

Not only for grew training, but for training of platoon tactics too. On steelbeast there is three Finnish maps that include real finnish army training areas in them. Though those are hard to find unless you know where to look for them. My friend told me where to look, so it helped me out.

What they do with steelbeast is that. When they will have real life exercice they will first do it with steelbeast. This way being able to follow up what students do and how they do. It is pretty well visible on Karelia training video.

Also. They use Steelbeast for numerous training situations agaisnt fictional enemy to start with. And then later on at so called end war stage they will be moved to massive real life training exercices.

Fox told me that his CV90 battled numerous times agaisnt BMP-2s on real life training. And once agaisnt real life BMP-2 that was on the digital system changed to be T-90. Only they didnt know it, as they saw bmp-2 that was almost indestructible for their cv90.

If you want to know more...  id have to ask from FOX what he can tell me.

We can add Columbia to the list: http://www.steelbeasts.com/topic/1272-development-news-discussion/?page=5#comment-23565
Edit: Poland was able to unofficially get a hold of Steel Beasts: http://www.steelbeasts.com/topic/5490-sb-for-for-former-wp-armies/?page=2

Most of NATO, if not all use VBS. They may be using SB in some roles.

What is the information on the U.S.A. use of SB? My information was that it was never adopted officially.

That's apparently what happened with Poland, according to the link I posted above regarding Poland.

And for some news from this part of the world ... South East Asia.

I was kinda hoping that Singapore would be on the list since they use the Leopard Tank, but nope. A search for "esimgames" or "Steelbeasts" on their Mindef site (https://www.mindef.gov.sg/) retrieves nothing. Singapore does have a 3-year old state-of-the-art Armour Simulation Centre (ASC). The Centre comprises the Armour Driving Simulator (ADS) and Armour Gunnery and Manoeuvre Simulator (AGMS). You can read its FACTSHEET here (http://www.defense-aerospace.com/articles-view/release/3/179210/singapore-opens-new-armor-simulation-center.html).
