It doesn't use streamed live traffic as it uses accurate set of customisable real-world 2017 schedules (the same data as used by the main flight tracking sites). It has a new developer so doesn't use any of the old Traffic 360 engine.

JUST FLIGHT'S NEW AI TRAFFIC PROGRAM FOR FSX AND P3D
Traffic Global, the latest and most advanced instalment in our acclaimed Traffic series of AI traffic expansions, is now in development for FSX and P3D.

I couldn't wait for this so I got UTL which is comparable. The JF one is suppose to have better models though. You can always install your own models in UTL.

An update on Traffic Global

Hi all,
There has been some concern lately regarding the recent lack of updates for Traffic Global Early Access. Please let me assure you that although I have had to divert my attention to another project recently, we are still fully committed to bringing Traffic Global out of Early Access early next year and to continue supporting updating and expanding the Traffic Global project.
I'll be issuing an updated version of Traffic Global before the New Year with a number of bug fixes, and then next year we'll be back with many planned improvements including improved model lighting, more liveries and new features as we move towards a full release version.

"An update is coming shortly. At the moment some new liveries are being painted for inclusion in the update along with some extra flight plans and as soon as they are complete the update will be released.
Getting Traffic Global out of Early Access very soon is a priority for us this year. The development hiatus is almost over and we will have some very exciting announcements about the future of the product for you very soon."

I've never used a traffic addon as I fly mostly military , does it need a powerful computer to run and what are the main benefits over using the default sim version ?

What this has over the default is real world timetables, routes and liveries. Like the default AI, it will have an impact on your FPS but less on newer systems.
You are mostly into military, this comes with civilian timetables, routes, liveries etc. You can however edit this to add your own military stuff.
This is still in development.
