Well!!!! :) :thumbsup :howdy
Good battle. :thumbsup
It was an example on how a subordinate can elaborate and change his orders depending on the situation he find.
I ordered Colbert to march to Ligny from north, starting from sombreffe. His manoeuvre should be like an L.
When he came out from the woods of sombreffe he saw the Prussian pushing hard against our right flank and so he decided to take the road close to the Dyle river and attack immediately there.
Prussian were repulsed and Colbert saved our position in Ligny. :howdy
Asid change of position was probably my best order yesterday. At the beginning I committed him to secure the town of Ligny.
We start the battle in the east corner and Asid was commanding the southern division of our corps. But i didn't realize this immediately!
When I saw his troops marching south of my position I sent him a courier with new orders. Take the hill a mile south west of Ligny.
And after a while the enemy came exactly in that position! Asid repulsed him and then tried to move north to support our left flank in Ligny.
Suddenly a new fresh Prussian division appears from SE. When Asid reported this to me I was thinking he saw Foy reserve division moving from Tongrenelle to Ligny but when I galloped near Asid I realized he was right.
He precipitously came back on the hill and held the position supported by one infantry brigade of Foy division and a horse battery from Piré division.
Some troops also came from St. Amand in the west (correct Asid?) but that was a shy attack.

Objective was Ligny
