Excerpts of the battalion commander's (HAVOC 6) orders for...BLUEFOR (D.O.W.)

Summer of 1986...

1) SITUATION:
a) Enemy:
A depleted Soviet force is attacking towards Rothenkirchen to cut the road and rail lines between the 2 battalions on either side of us. Enemy is estimated to be no more than a reinforced company. Given the importance of Rothenkirchen, don't be surprised if even this small force has some artillery with it.

b) Own:
We have just 66/A, 6 Leopard 1A3 tanks, and 3 Marder 1A2s. 66/A and 1-1/A have mine plows.
2 platoons of light infantry got to 2 different towns. One of them is guarding our right flank, the other one is in the town to our NE to serve as a delaying force. They reported that abatis obstacles magically sprang up overnight at at least several bridges. We will need to use our bridgelayers.
We know that one other light infantry platoon got to a delaying position to the NE, but we don't know where they went because they didn't have enough time to fix their radios first. Amazingly, they were last seen repairing their radios while running. They are expected to resume radio contact with us very soon.
Oh, and some O-6 at Brigade HQ is about to drop belts of FASCAM in random places. It took him long enough to figure out that we have a weak point here.

c) Attachments and detachments: 66/H is here with 1/H, which has 2x Biber, 1x Wisent ARV with mine plow, 1x Unimog 1300 Medic, and 1x MAN 10t supply truck. 11/A is here for FO duty.

2) MISSION:
Rothenkirchen and its vital transport lines must be kept safe. Therefore, we must launch a meeting engagement and defeat them! In addition, we must seize the last reported position of the enemy so we can serve as a delaying action against any enemy counterattack.

3) SUPPORT:
All we've got is 1 battery of 4 tubes, firing HE, Smoke, and ICM. It was probably all which that O-6 could find for us.

I am unable to join for Friday or Saturday, as I am away from my home visiting (working for) family.  My 13 year old lappy no longer has SB on the system, just couldn't handle it.  If something is going on Sunday, I can and will join in.
