I was a MASSIVE fan of Space 1999. The 2 seasons were between 1975 and 1977 and had 24 episodes each.
I really wanted one of these when I was a kid. Not the models - but the metal "corgi" ones I think they were...but we were too poor. One guy at school had one and we all looked...drooling.
Anyway. For the last couple of years, after taking up scale modelling again, I occasionally looked around for one and found them - but never quite managed to push the buy button.
But tonight was the night. This sucker is mine and - for the first time in my life - I'll be a very proud owner of a Space 1999 Eagle.
**I know all that sounds quite sad - but I am soooo excited to own one of these. AND - I get to make it!**

What can I say? I WANT ONE.
I remember watching all the episodes. I recently re-watched them. Series 21 was great…Series 2 not so great. They added to much music and the woman who changes into different creatures. I preferred it when it was simple.
I always wanted one of those models…..Pictures please.

Definitely will.
It's going to need some work. It's an old kit apparently and will need some tlc (like the engine on my Harrier) so I've ordered some styrene rods (all different sizes) so I can add some detail.

Blast from the 1970s past. Moonbase Alpha. Martin Landau and wife, Barbara Bain. Who could forget the iconic space crafts.

At the end of the '80s there we had TV series for kids called "Visitors from Mathplanet". Main characters called Pi and Sigma came to Earth and explained mathematics. The main goal was to popularise maths among children. Now I know where their idea of the space ship came from. ;)

I have to say - it's VERY basic. 9 building steps and the quality definitely shows signs of 80's moulding...but I'm so chuffed to have one and I'm going to do my very best to make this model to the best of my ability
