Behind the Badge OC takes us inside the Force Option Simulator at Golden West College. Recruits and police officers are able to practice their skills and split second decision making tactics.

As an #‎LAPD reserve officer, I am obligated to training that requires the use of the force option simulator. While there are a number of agencies across the country that are struggling with use of force policy, the LAPD has come a long way in building trust with the community, so I thought it was important to put those community members in the shoes of police officers and see how they react to different scenarios. That is why I invited Najee Ali and Cynthia Mendenhall to share the experience with me.
