Hi Taff

as discussed before. any new players need to get set up. You need to be on the TeamSpeak channel at least 30 minutes BEFORE the game starts. It starts today at 8:30 (UK time). This is to make sure that any new players enjoy the experience and do not negatively impact the session to much.

Regards

Great battle yesterday! We were 9 players  8)

Me CinC with Taff, Fabian and Asid. They command a division each and i have other two divisions. Allies side

Berthier CinC, Colbert and Praetoria commanding two infantry corps, Sargon a cavalry corps and ciampo an infantry division under Praetoria corps. Obviously French side.

We had an amount of +-33000 men per side, we had more infantry but French had more cavalry 3:1 ratio :o

We started closer to the objective, a small village west of the map. Those three or four houses were on top of a hill surrounded by rivers north, east and south. A very strong defensive position.

I deployed Taff/Cole division to the north, northeast, Fabian/Decken division to check the river east and Asid/Picton's division to the south supported by Kruse division. Brunswick division, with our cavalry, was held as reserve near the objective.

We were still deploying when the first enemy in sight report came from both Fabian and Taff from east. Also Asid reported some enemy movement southwest but they quickly disappeared from his view.

From east appeared the French cavalry corps leaded by Sargon, he stopped before crossing the river making some feint to move forward.

Fabian and Taff formed squares while I moved my heavy battery between them to support especially Fabian which had no artillery in his division.

Guns roaring over all the eastern front, then also French heavy batteries join the fight. Our squares were under heavy fire but still resisted!

In the meantime Taff noticed infantry moving north (Colbert three divisions corps). My countermeasures were to recall Asid from south (it started to became clear that the enemy wouldn't attack from south, Kruse relieved his position), moving a Brunswick infantry brigade to support Taff and moved our cavalry towards east because we all felt that the French were going to attack. Also Praetoria corps with ciampo's division in their far left were deploying.

Napoleon/Berthier coordinated the attack. Sargon moved his cavalry forward to hit the junction between Taff and Fabian. French cavalry charged Taff brigade while they were repositioning themselves. The brigade fell back reforming some hundreds yards back. My artillery was attacked and captured or dispersed.

We now had a big gap between Taff and Fabian and Asid and my other reinforcements where still too far to help them in any way.

French infantry marched to exploit the hole and gain the top of the hill.

In that moment came my cavalry. I decided to use the cavalry to repulse French cavalry, which I supposed to be tired, and infantry to close the gap while waiting for Asid.

A good plan in my brain but reality was another...

While I was mumbling sarin had retired his tired cavalry moving forward a fresh brigade. I didn't notice that so I attacked with full brigade without reaching my goal.

Fabian started to send me message about his poor condition and we decided to slowly fallback. But French pressure was too much so after a stiff resistance he broken.

Same fate for Asid Taff and my reinforcements. The French advance was irresistible. Colbert outflanked us from north and was fighting out of the town/objective when luckily the time expired.

Good game. Thanks to everyone who participated :thumbsup
