Title: Replacement point value of units ?
Post by: Franciscus on January 08, 2018, 07:32:21 PM
Hi Ron.

Unless I am mistaken there is no way to know the replacement value (cost) of a unit.
By trial (disbanding them) I know some - for instance an italian freighter costs 1 mech point, a destroyer 3, etc.

This info is important and could be added to the Unit Details panel.

Related to this, I think the number of freighters available for the axis in the NAfrica scenarios is too little (or the mech replacements available should be more).
In the small scenarios like Cirenaica, 6 turns, with the very agressive allied AI and a few unlucky dice rolls, it can happen that they are all destroyed. In the full 40-43 campaign it can mean game over very quickly....

Currently the only way I see to get extra italian  mech points is to disband other units, which is not very historical...

Regards

You bring up an interesting point.  I plan on v1.10 to look at replacement points for every scenario.

Hi again

After playing again some of the shorter North Africa scenarios I am pretty sure that the available italian freighters are not enough for a full campaign.

Sugestions would be some fixed reinforcements (say, 2 freighter units every 6 turns), or alternatively, increase the DF of italian freighters.

Otherwise it becomes very quickly crippling for the axis...

Yes, I plan to add more mech points as replacements.  This will allow replacement of freighter units.
Thanks,
Ron
