Title: XML file for NTTR Nav Points
Post by: Cawdroch on January 14, 2020, 10:31:18 PM
Hi
I've just got back into using Tacview with DCS. I'm currently learning to navigate the NTTR using pure TACAN with the F5E module (old skool  :thumbsup) and was hoping to review my accuracy in Tacview however, I couldn't find any addon which would place markers in Tacview for the TACAN Navigation Fixes and Range Coordinates around Nellis AFB and the NTTR (FLEX, APEX, FYTTR, etc) to monitor my progress so I've written an XML file which places all 38 Nav fixes in their correct Lat/Long and at their published min altitudes and all 22 Range coordinates (Belted Peak, Student Gap etc) at their correct elevations as per most generally available reference cards. It works like and compliments the superb NTTR xml file released by Stuka which marks up the range boundries etc and goes into the Static Objects folder as per other addons.

I'm happy to share it if anyone is interested? What would be the best way to make it accessible for download?

Thanks
Cawdroch

Hi Cawdroch

I would appreciate the file.

It can be hosted on this forum. How dig is it?

Regards

Hi Asid

It's only 23KB as it's a txt file.
I've hopefully added it as an attachment here, it needs to be copied into the following directory    C:\ProgramData\Tacview\Data\Static Objects
If you haven't got a static objects folder there, create one and copy it in
Once copied, when you restart Tacview and go to the NTTR area, you'll see the navpoints as small blue spheres with the correct label and when you run a track in 3D, they appear at the correct minimum published MSL altitude.

Let me know how you get on with it.

Cheers

Hi Cawdroch,

After a few changes, I have published your file on Tacview addons web-page!

Among other things, I have added MapID="DCS World" to make sure the data is displayed only when reviewing DCS World flights (because this may not match other flight sims terrain or real-world data).

Let me know whenever you would like to publish a new version of the file, just make sure you use this one as a base for the future updates.

I put your call-sign in the credits. Just let me know if you would like to see your real-name and/or your email address in them too.
