Try now the real-time telemetry in Tacview 1.6 beta 1!
Want to know how the real-time telemetry will do with DCS World? Try now Tacview 1.6 beta 1.
http://tacview.net/download/beta
As promised, I am releasing the first public version of the real-time telemetry before DCS World F/A-18 is released ;)
Password and port numbers will be configurable in future releases. It will also be possible to prevent real-time data export on your public server except for those who have the right password.
Fell free to post any feedback regarding real-time telemetry on this thread.

Hello Vyrtuoz and all Tacview users !
I have installed the latest Tacview beta but I can't get the realtime telemetry to work...
Running Tacview on the same rig as DCS openbeta (latest version 1.5.6.1938 Update 2017-02-10), I tried with some simple MP mission and with SP mission.
Could you please provide us a step by step process to get the telemetry running ?
I've tried "localhost" and "127.0.0.1" for the host without success.
Thanks !

Hi Nanolab
Welcome to the forum.
I am sure Vyrtuoz (the dev) will help you out quickly. He provides excellent support.

Nanolab,
The only thing required to setup real-time telemetry is to install Tacview on the host machine (the one which is running DCS World). In your case, there is nothing else to do.
What is happening when you click “Join” in Tacview? Do you see some progress text in the 3D view?
Can you share me the dcs logs which can be found in \Saved Games\DCS\Logs\ ? They will help me to understand what is going on your computer.

Hi again,
Just tried now, first a SP mission then a MP mission (in MP mode as only client).
I see the telemetry loading message in the 3D Tacview but nothing is happening.
Here's the DCS log attached.
Hope it'll help !

It looks like the exporter did not receive any real-time telemetry request. I was not able to reproduce this issue, it is working well in all cases. (just found and fixed minor bugs)
Can you share a screenshot of the real-time telemetry connection dialogbox with your parameters?

Hi again,
Here it is :

Port is where MP server was running on, and 127.0.0.1 was replaced in my tests by localhost aswell.

All right! This is what I was starting to guess :)
For now, you must use the port [42674]. This is the port for Tacview exporter, *NOT* DCS World multiplayer game port.
You can also play offline because you do not need to host a game for the real-time telemetry to work…
Sorry for the confusion, I am going to display a hint about that.

Hello !
Thanks a lot, changing port to 42674 value solved my problem !It works now as a charm !
Back to real testing so, and thanks again for this software !

I tried this with the DCS Huey. Simple and works great.
Thanks for another great addition to Tacview.

Will port (and password) be configurable per server instance via the module settings in the DCS Settings UI under the special tab?
The reason I ask is that I run two servers on the same host (one NTTR and one Black Sea) and I'd like to be able to have this working for both on different ports.
It would be a shame if it were only configurable globally via the application itself.
Thanks!

Do not worry, this is just the first beta, not all features are yet available ;)
I am mostly for a missing feature of DCS which should be added in their next update. Then you will be able to choose the export port and password right from DCS control panel.
