Operation Karbala 4. Was a failed offensive in 1986 by the Iranians to capture Basra in southern Iraq. It was claimed that it failed due to the help provided by the Americans. The Iraqi’s were prepared for the attack helped by US intelligence they had received.

The battle itself was planned and eventually executed by Ali Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani. The operation would be launched under cover of darkness in order to gain a foothold along the Arvand Rūd/Shatt-al-Arab waterway. Once across, the Iranian forces would go on the offensive and eventually move onto the port city of Basra. The attack would be launched towards the Umm al-Rasas Island in the Shatt al Arab.

Mohajer-1 was Iran's first step to manufacture UAVs. Mohajer continued to photograph Iraqi lines to the end of the war and accomplished 619 sorties at the end. There are reports indicating that Mohajer-1 was armed with six RPG-7 rockets to attack enemy positions, making it the first UCAV in the world to be used in war

That tank looks very much at home hidden among the reeds and bushes. Amphibious APCs. A first in gaming? Armageddon get it as soon as I re-download my copy of SABOW from Gamersgate.

Drone droning on and on and on until it hits the enemy hard.

Whoa check it out. Shimmering effect on the waters. Maybe Next time Iran will make an amphibious drone...in case it hits the water.  Wotta shot. Lots of yummy images on Steam.

If only the Wright Brothers were alive to behold this sight! Lovely foliage and terrain. This is a sim within a sim. SABOW keeps getting better and better.

I just purchased Basra 86 DLC online from Graviteam Shop (http://"http://simhq.com/forum/ubbthreads.php/forums/238/1/Graviteam_Sims"). I am downloading it even as I type this. Never mind that it will most probably be on sale in the future. I've had a productive past week on a project and I would like to 'celebrate' by enjoying some time with SABOW, the September 2015 patch and Basra 86 DLC. To spend some 'hang time' with this fabulous Tan Sim. I don't speak Iranian or Arabic, and Basra is thousands of miles away from where I live, but I want to relive a piece of tanking history through this simulation.

Thanks to Graviteam Tactics for crafting this DLC for the fantastic Steel Armor Blaze of War. I've gone to Youtube and revised my SABOW gameplay with videos from SimDeck:

Another great resource is the SimHQ SABOW forum (http://"http://simhq.com/forum/ubbthreads.php/topics/4178134/Re:_SABOW_DLC:_Basra_86"). If anyone is a newbie at Steel Armor Blaze Of War, these are great learning resources to start off with.
